After a two-year battle to save our gun rights from the relentless attacks of Joe Biden and the Radical Left, gun owners across America were hoping for a ‘Red Wave’ on Election Night.
In fact, many of us expected it. I know I did.
But as we all know, that’s not what happened in Washington.
The good news is that, as of this moment, gun owners appear to have kicked Nancy Pelosi and Democrats in the House out of power…a ‘revenge vote’ for their attempt to disarm us through an onslaught of tyrannical gun control bills.
In the Senate, however, the results were not so good.
Chuck Schumer will keep control of the chamber and will likely even increase the size of his majority to a commanding when the counting is finally done and the runoff election in Georgia is decided.
Any way you look at it, at the federal level, this wasn’t a ‘Red Wave’ election that will end the threat to our gun rights in Congress. With an emboldened White House maintaining control of the United States Senate, you and I are in for a fight.
You see, while gun owners didn’t experience a ‘Red Wave’ in Washington, D.C., we held the line here in Wisconsin, as pro-gun voters did their work at the polls!
While Tony Evers did win re-election, thanks to mobilized gun owners, both the State House and the State Senate maintained majorities in Madison – with the Senate gaining enough votes for a SUPERMAJORITY and falling just 2 votes short of a Supermajority in the Assembly.
(WIFC members know that there’s a big difference between being a Republican and being pro-gun, as Madison is full of RINOs. But defeating Democrats who openly hate the Second Amendment is always something that WIFC will be proud of!)
But it wasn’t just legislative races where gun owners sent a message.
Senator Ron Johnson was re-elected to the United States Senate by just 26,000 votes, beating Communist candidate Mandela Barnes and securing a badly needed seat!
While the Primary Election is where the Wisconsin Firearms Coalition does our best work, the message sent to the politicians in Madison last Tuesday was unmistakable: if you attack our gun rights, gun owners will attack your career!
These were great and critical victories.
More specifically, these were YOUR victories.
You see, every piece of our election program was paid for by the members of the Wisconsin Firearms Coalition. And I can’t thank you enough for stepping up to the plate and voting PRO-GUN on Nov 8th.
But if there’s one thing that we’ve learned from the Democrats over the years, it’s to never let your foot off the gas, especially when you have the momentum!
First, the Wisconsin Firearms Coalition will be going ‘all in’ on a REAL Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) bill, which instructs Wisconsin cops to enforce Wisconsin gun laws — preventing Biden from using them to enforce his federal gun control agenda.
The election doesn’t change the fact that Biden can continue to attack our gun rights through Executive Orders.
But Biden’s handlers are counting on our cops to do his dirty work and enforce these Executive Orders. SAPA law would prevent that, and without the free use of Wisconsin cops, Biden simply wouldn’t have the manpower to enforce his agenda.
Gun owners in Missouri already passed and enjoy the nation’s best SAPA law, and now we believe it’s time for the Second Amendment Preservation Act in Wisconsin too!
Second, we will be redoubling our efforts to advance life-saving Stand-Your-Ground law.
While 38 states now have Stand-Your-Ground law, Wisconsin is one of only a handful that does not, and our current laws are insufficient because they still require us to prove that our actions were innocent following a self-defense shooting.
And in an era when a liberal prosecutor will happily try to ruin your life just to make a political statement (think Kyle Rittenhouse) it’s clear that we need Stand-Your-Ground in Wisconsin, NOW!
Finally, we’ll need to be ready for a massive fight as gun-grabbing Democrats AND RINO Republicans are looking for a way to:
>>> Enforce a statewide registry of every gun owner in Wisconsin. This has been the goal of the radical Democrats ever since Tony Evers took office and they’re going to go for it if they can get the votes. The gun-grabbers need to pass this bill first, as the necessary building block for eventual gun confiscation!
>>> Pass Red Flag Gun Confiscation laws for all Wisconsinites. Under this scheme, government agents could bust into your home to seize your guns with ZERO due process just because someone complains about you. Totally unconstitutional!
>>> Immediately move to outlaw every single semi-automatic rifle, handgun, and shotgun in the state! If gun owners don’t put the brakes on this agenda, the RINOs and Democrats are not going to stop with banning our AR-15’s. They’ll ban your wife’s Glock 9mm, your Remington 11-87 and even your Ruger 10-22!
But the fact is that despite our majorities in Madison, passing pro-gun bills and stopping gun control is going to be a big task with Governor Evers on the warpath.
The Wisconsin Firearms Coalition is going to have to do what we do best: mobilize our army of gun owners using direct mail, internet and digital ads, and our powerful email program to inundate the Capitol with grassroots pressure from gun owners!
But running these programs — at the size we’ll need to run them — isn’t cheap. And after the massive amount we just spent on our 2022 election program, we simply don’t have the funds we need to do all of this.
The amount of your renewal is up to you. But we have a tremendous amount of work to do to protect and advance the Second Amendment in Madison this year, and that’s why I hope you’ll agree to renew at the Patriot Level ($125) or the Freedom Level ($75) of membership for 2023!
I know that’s asking a lot, but the stakes are high and we MUST seize this opportunity.
So if $75 or $125 is just not possible, please consider a Liberty Level membership for $35.
Any WIFC member who renews at the Freedom Level or higher will receive a newly redesigned T-Shirt absolutely free as our way of saying ‘thank you’ for your continued support!
For Wisconsin,
Ben Dorr
Executive Director
Wisconsin Firearms Coalition
P.S. While we didn’t see a ‘Red Wave’ in D.C. on election night, gun owners appear to have reclaimed the House. At the same time, gun owners here in Wisconsin crushed Mandela Barnes and legislative Democrats, despite Bloomberg’s best efforts!
This is the momentum that the Wisconsin Firearms Coalition needs to protect and advance our Second Amendment in Madison during the upcoming legislative session!
But we need your help to mobilize gun owners.
Please renew your membership in the Wisconsin Firearms Coalition for 2023!
Remember, all renewals at the Freedom Level ($75) or higher come with a FREE WIFC T-Shirt!
